OUR STORY

About Our Historic Southwest
Michigan Bed & Breakfast

Built-in 1925 in the blossoming lakefront town of South Haven in Southwest Michigan, the Glassman Resort was considered a full-service resort. All meals were prepared and served in the dining hall, which featured twenty-foot ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and beautiful maple floors. At the time, the majority of guests arrived via steamships crossing Lake Michigan.

By the 1960s, the resort industry was suffering, and many properties fell prey to neglect or fires. Few resorts remained. The Victoria Resort Bed & Breakfast and Cottages continues to maintain the vintage flavor of the original structure. The original five-panel wood doors, decorative door handles, and unique hinges are still in place along with the original closets. The original hallway doors were repurposed for the bathroom doors in the King Deluxe and Queen Deluxe rooms. Original transoms are still in working order above the bedroom doors in Cottages B & C.

The outside of the Victoria Resort Bed & Breakfast and Cottages appears the same as it did nearly a hundred years ago. However, luxury amenities and comforts have been added to our Southwest Michigan bed and breakfast with today's comforts in mind. Guest rooms and Cottages include jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces, large flat-screen televisions, Wi-Fi, small refrigerators, and private bathrooms. Our cottages offer our guests kitchens for longer stays and two cottages provide real wood-burning fireplaces and Jacuzzi tubs.

At the Victoria Resort Bed & Breakfast and Cottages, we are always working to keep the charm of yesteryear while providing the comforts of today in creating memories of tomorrow. Hosting guests continues to be a labor of love and we look forward to serving you during your vacation.
